Mixed media encaustic on wood panel 20" x 40" SOLD
I love the colours and brightness of this painting. This is part photograph embedded in wax, stencilling, painting with pan pastel and encaustic paint. It's actually a combination of two photographs - one taken in Point Pelee in southern Ontario and the other in Caledon during the fall....the former photo was taken 3 years ago and the trees were taken in the fall of 2015. This painting depicts the time frame of my journey to Here....I am finally more present in life...not just waiting for the next moment.
Baby's Breath Buddha
Oil paint, pan pastels and encaustic on wood panel
Did you know the word inspiration comes from the latin word In Spirata which means In Spirit.....watch my tube video here
I am often asked how long a painting takes to make....the answer is that it truly varies. This one was done over a span of 14 months. It was originally a painted bird on a branch and it was later scraped away (you can do that with wax) and I decided to paint a tree...the lone tree is rich in symbolism and I have always been drawn to its mystical qualities. On the Edge

This piece was inspired by an image I saw of a sharp cliff with trees and I imagined skiing and how that would feel to be living life on the edge...
A Long Walk Home
12" x 36" SOLD Photo encaustic mixed media on wood panel
I took a photo of this path on my hike with my family one morning in the fall of 2014. This is Caledon during October...it was a crisp, cool Autumn morning. The colours were other wordly....the gold from the trees seemed to shimmer in effervescent harmony that day. This piece conveys the beauty I felt in that moment.
Yes, I felt beauty....it wasn't just a visual experience that day...it was uplifting for my soul to connect with nature and with my loved ones.

Floral Collection
Flowers have long been a muse for many an artist. I am no exception.....they bloom, delight and leave this world and return again to grace us with their beauty
30" x 30" AVAILABLE Encaustic and Pan Pastel on Wooden Panel
This is one of those pieces that diverged from my normal landscape theme. I used stencils to create sculptural flowers. This is a highly textured piece and one of a kind.
Landscape imagery evokes feelings of nostalgia. I enjoy creating layered landscapes with hidden messages. I sometimes may use image transfers in my work with overlays of painting in pan pastel or oil. Sometimes the entire painting is made only of wax....it depends on what comes to me that moment. What intrigues me is is the mystery of a mountainside cliff or a row of colourful trees on a crisp autumn day.....there is a dream here, a feeling that you can be transported to another place and time Landscapes are like looking through a window to the soul of the earth....and endless inspiration for creating art. Here are my older pieces which have since been sold and adorn the walls of my collectors. Contact me for a quote if there is something here you see that you may want to commission. These are one of a kind but I can modify a piece to tailor it to your preferred colors.
Collaboration with photographer Elaine Chang. This is a photoencaustic. I use archival Epson inks and paper to print the photograph, and build layers and textures in wax on top of the image.

Wisdom I
30" x 24" SOLD encaustic and oil on wood panel
The Owl is symbolic of wisdom. I enjoy painting birds, but owls hold a special place in my heart. It started with my niece, Olivia....she loves owls and was always captivated by their large eyes. Truly remarkable birds and yes, there is something quite wise about an owl. They are content to just sit and observe...you almost feel like they will give you some pearls of wisdom instead of a hoot.
